Kaka likes Real

Written by Sawyer | 18th July 2006 | 1 Comment(s)

Brazilian creative midfielder Kaka has again been linked with a move to Real Madrid after he paid compliment to the Spanish club.

Milan has already warned Madrid that Kaka is not available for transfer and the attacking midfielder signed a new contract with the Italian club just last month.

Chelsea is another who has been linked recently and Roman Abramovich allegedly willing to offer World record monies for Kaka, even though Jose Mourinho has stated that he doesn't think The Blues will make any further signings.

French Champions Lyon had hoped to get involved as they already have Kaka's good friend Juninho Pernambucano, but this was before Milan escaped relegation from Serie ‘A'.

Kaka explained why he extended his contract stating, ‘'my family and I are happy in Milan and that is why I renewed my contract until 2011.''

However the Brazilian also spoke of his admiration for Madrid adding, ‘'the fact that Real are interested in me and want me is very pleasing. Real are as great a club as Milan, or possibly even greater.''

New Real president Ramon Calderon immediately stated that Kaka was to arrive following his election victory.

He also seemed certain that Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas was also going to join along with Chelsea's Arjen Robben, but it is starting to look as though all three may be empty promises.

If Kaka was to move it would surely was again open the debate on the validity of any contract signed nowadays.

Although Milan remained in Serie ‘A' they will begin next season fifteen points adrift in the League.

However, they did finish 12 points ahead of city rivals Internazionale last season and without the distraction of European football it is not beyond possibility they could yet mount a challenge for the Scudetto during the coming campaign.

There is no reason why Milan can't keep the majority of their squad together, and maybe also attract some from rivals Juventus who will have players wishing to remain in Italy.

Granted Milan faces a tall order this season, but in reality it should not be beyond them to finish in a Champions League position.

Kaka, 24, joined AC Milan from Sao Paulo in 2003 for a fee in the region of £6 million and managed 19 goals in 40 appearances for the Rossoneri last season.

Arsenal set for striker change.
Saturday’s instalment of the Arsenal/Liverpool trilogy provided some cause for many to think that all was not well in the Arsenal camp as Nicklas Bendtner headed home, only to then celebrate alone with the fans as the rest of the players shunned their customary group frivolities at scoring. This summer could see Arsene Wenger shuffle his striking options?

Liverpool & Everton - Run-in Predictions
The fight for points and places at either end of the table will take much of the attention and once again we also have the added issue of Merseyside supremacy for the 4th Champions League spot, which could prove just as intriguing as the other battles.
